10 Things Men Admit They Love About Being a Man

It’s time to settle the age-old debate. Who has it better, men or women? Unsurprisingly, men believe they are the superior gender and are willing to argue their points to no end. Recently, men met in an online discussion to reveal everything they love about being men. Let me tell you, it was indeed a meeting of the minds.

1. Not Having a Menstrual Cycle

“My oldest daughter just started getting her period,” reveals one father. “Man, I just feel so bad for her. Learning to deal with this and coming to terms with the fact she’s going to be doing it for the next 40 years. I never put a ton of thought into it before. It’s been a real eye-opener for me, and I very much appreciate it’s not something I need to deal with.”

2. An Abundance of Pockets

If there’s one fantastic thing about being a man that both men and women can agree on, it’s the fact that men always have more pockets at their disposal. From overcoats to jeans and every piece of clothing in between, it’s unfair that women don’t have access to the number of pockets that men do.

3. Never Worrying About Long Restroom Lines

Most men thank their lucky stars they are men whenever they go to the bathroom during big public events. “How short and quick-moving the bathroom lines at most public events are is amazing,” reports one man. “Meanwhile, the girls have to wait 45 minutes to use the bathroom, and the line is out the door.”

4. Going to the Bathroom Standing Up

Speaking of going to the bathroom, men are essentially primates, which means many of them love that they don’t have to sit down when they use the bathroom. I get it, but you would think the lazier gender would jump at the opportunity to sit down any chance they get.

5. Facial Hair

Men love their facial hair. The option to be clean-shaven or fully bearded (and everything in between) is something men love about themselves. Let’s be fair, though: women are happy to let men have their beards.

6. The Feeling of Safety When Walking Alone

Many women express feelings of trepidation whenever they are walking alone at night. Conversely, men admit they don’t share the same sentiment. In fact, a handful of men take pride in the fact that they can safely walk wherever they want at any time of day!

7. Lack of Stress

Some people say men are somehow protected from all the world’s stresses! “The women I know tend to be constantly freaking out and stressing about everything constantly, especially stuff that doesn’t matter,” explains one misguided man. “I am glad I don’t have to deal with that.” Wow. Something tells me that this guy is a catch!

8. No Childbirth

When it comes to giving birth, I’m optimistic nearly all women would trade places with men in a heartbeat. Men are near-unanimous when they confess they feel lucky that they’re spared from one of the most intense natural pains in the world.

9. Not Having To Worry About Makeup

While there are no hard and fast rules prohibiting men from wearing makeup, there is a societal expectation that women must look their best at all times. Being a man means the world accepts you for how you naturally look — and for that, men are thankful.

10. Being Able To Have Children Later in Life

Countless men report not feeling societal pressure regarding having children as women do. “Men don’t really have a biological clock when it comes to having kids like women do,” reports one man. “There’s no pressure from society to adhere to timelines for a relationship. Men have it good.”
