Family Travel In Half Moon Bay: Accomodations
The California Coast is a destination not to be missed in your lifetime, and while it is beautiful and relaxing for adults, it is magical and fun filled for our children!
Nestled about 40 minutes south of San Francisco, Half Moon Bay is a must stop for a family friendly getaway! We spent three days there recently with our family, and enjoyed wonderful accomodations, dining and activities that I’m here to tell you all about! Today’s installment is all about family friendly accomodations that are available in the Half Moon Bay area!
There are many places who offer family friendly accomodations, and we are here to give you a great list to choose from for your next trip!
On this trip, my family stayed at Half Moon Bay Inn.
Located right in the heart of town on Main Street, Half Moon Bay in is in the perfect location to enjoy Half Moon Bay to the fullest. You are within walking distance to restaurants, stores and more!
We stayed in the Hacienda Familia, which is a spacious room that sleeps up to four comfortably with plenty of room for an extra pack-n-play, if needed! This room is located right on the street with it’s own entrance, with plenty of parking at your doorstep which makes for easy luggage (and child) unloading. Don’t worry about hearing street noises though, for a room right on the main drag we felt like we were in a cozy cottage!
The Hacienda Familia has a luxurious queen bed, as well as a day-bed with a pull out trundle. The Queen bed was lovely, and my pregnant back appreciated the extra comfort! My son loved the trundle, it was low to the ground making it easy for a toddler to sleep on a twin.
The furniture in the room seems to have that special touch. The wooden desk, bench and dresser all have charm that you just can’t find in a chain hotel, and the lounge chair with footstool was a comfortable spot to snuggle with my boy, or read a book! The dresser also doubles as a drink station, with a coffee maker and water tray with glasses and a bottle of fresh water. The bar refrigerator includes creamer in it for your morning coffee, too!
The shower is an ADA compliant walk-in shower with a fold down bench which is great for most families, but if you have younger children or infants, there are plenty of other rooms that include a bathtub. Each room includes shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap and lotion that are all custom made just for Half Moon Bay Inn, and smell out of this world good. I kept using the lotion just so that my hands would smell lovely all day!
My favorite part? Every evening, I would slip into one of the soft, amazingly comfortable robes they keep in the room and lounge with my family together! (I told my husband I want one of those robes!)
Here are a few other family-friendly hotels in the Half Moon Bay area to check out!

Complimentary parking and daily Continental breakfast are also included during the stay.
