Health ~30 Days of Thankfulness day 24
If we can be thankful for sickness, we can be doubly thankful for health.
Revelations 21:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
God created our bodies with the amazing ability to heal itself. What man has done to the earth, and to our foods, has severely hindered our abilities to self heal, but our bodies still try.
When in the presence of the right foods and in a good environment, we can have good health. But that is hard to find, and as a result many are sick, or weak, or both.
Many times we forget to be thankful for health until it is taken away. Only after going through a time of not feeling well can we truly appreciate feeling good.
For myself, I want to remember to be thankful. I wake up in the morning and even if I still feel tired, I can get out of bed and start my day. Without the assistance of anyone else, I am able to get dressed. I can walk out to the kitchen and pack my lunch, eat breakfast and read the word of God.
Because God has blessed me with good health, a strong body and a sound mind, I am able to go about my day without needing to rely on someone else to help me with even the simple things.
I am thankful for my health; no, it isn’t what I would like, but it could be so much worse.
Here is the amazing thing though: no matter what a person’s health is in their mortal body, someday all those that believe in Christ and have accepted him as their savior will have access to the Tree of Life. This tree will heal us and we will experience perfect health forever!
