Salvation ~30 Days of Thanksgiving day 16 + linkup

ByKendra Stamy Updated onJanuary 30, 2023 Home and Garden
The law shows us our need for salvation

Every born again child of God thanks him for the gift of salvation.

The law shows us our need for salvation

Exodus 15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Like I pointed out yesterday, we are thankful for the law because it shows us who God is and who we are. It shows us just how far away from God we really are. If we did not have the law then we could never truly be thankful for salvation.

Salvation is a gap bridger. It spans over the multitude of sins that separate us from God and brings us directly to him.

If you ever feel like you are taking your salvation for granted, read Matthew 28, Mark 15, Luke 23, and John 18-19. Those 5 different and yet same chapters will grip your heart and remind you once again just how dearly Christ paid for our salvation.

Out of all the things that God could’ve done with a people that just cannot obey him, and choose time and time again to disobey him; dying for them is the last thing that makes sense.

Why would God die for us and purchase our salvation so dearly? It really makes no sense when you look at how big he is and how small we are. In fact, it makes no sense at all that he would even have any interest in us.

The answer to all of that is found in the feelings that we as parents experience as we look at our little ones. These little people demand our time and attention, they often hurt us physically and break our hearts. Yet we would die for these little people. Why? Because they are part of us, they are ours and our love for them is stronger than anything else on this earth.

That, in a small way describes who we are to God. We are his creation, made in his image and greatly loved. He loves us so much that he DID die for us and purchased our salvation at a great cost.

I am so thankful to be loved by a God who saves!
