Someone On My Side | Powerful!
In light of the tragedy in Baltimore, a few photos began circulating the internet. While the news is showing us the horrible, scary side of these riots, a few people were posting photos that shared hope.
One photo in particular, stood out. In fact, it stood out so much that it went viral within just a few hours.
It was so perfect, this beautiful, positive photo that shone brighter than all the negative news of that day. I shared it on A Proverbs 31 Wife, and many of you guys re-shared it. One fan even left a comment that went like this: “I would love to have people like that in my life if I were an officer”.
Yes, I agreed, I would like to have someone on my side too if I were in their shoes.
That’s when it hit me, I Am in their shoes and I Do have someone on my side.
You see, I have a savior who stood in the gap for me. He stood in front of the stone-throwers and he took on the biggest bully of all time.
He did this for me, he did this for you. He certainly didn’t need to do this. He could’ve stayed in heaven, that perfect place which was his home. But he didn’t. Why? Because he had compassion.
He saw that on my own, I was defenseless. The judicial system of the world had tied MY hands, I had NO defense and small protection.
So He Came.
He came and stood in the gap for me. He became my defender and protector. He loosed my bonds and freed me from both my sin, and from the father of lies who had held me in his bonds.
I am blessed. Blessed to have someone on my side. Blessed to be freed. Blessed to be a child of God.
Blessed. Because HE is on my side.
…If God be for us, who can be against us? -Roman’s 8:31
Be blessed my sisters in Christ. We do have someone on our side and he is the King of the Universe!
Back to the photo above, typically the officers in blue are the ones who put their lives on the line for us, but sometimes, they need a little protection from us as well. In a sense, the men who stood in the gap for the officers showed the world a little bit of Jesus.
Is there someone in your life who has always been there for you? Take a look, perhaps they also need you to be there for them. In doing so, we can show Jesus to the world.
