Although arguments and fights happen in every relationship, a partner must have the skills to navigate through them. “The ability to work through a disagreement calmly and rationally is vital,” says one woman. “It shows you can view problems as ‘us vs. the problem’ not ‘me vs. you.'”
3. Supporting
Being supportive of one’s needs, especially regarding mental health, screams “I’m spouse material” in the eyes of countless women. But, honestly, the inverse is also true – many men look for women who will have their backs in a moment of need.

Finding a person who is always thinking of how to brighten up your day is something that’s consistently on the minds of many women. “I’d been dating my now-husband for only about a month when a bark box delivery started showing up at my house for my dog,” says a happily-married woman. “He was just so thoughtful and generous.”

Nobody wants to be with a loud, arrogant, and selfish person. Having quiet confidence is a good indicator of emotional maturity. It goes a long way toward making your partner more confident in the relationship and where it’s headed.
10. Helping Out Around the House
Just a heads up, gentlemen: women appreciate it when you pitch in around the house! “I (a woman) am a bit retentive and like to keep my home cleaned as much as I can,” one person admits.
“Doing dishes as soon as possible, vacuuming at least once a week, dusting shelves before they get dusty, etc. If my partner steps up and does one without me asking, I feel like they really see me and respect our space together.”
11. Willingness To Improve
As I wrote earlier, nobody is perfect. However, this shouldn’t stop any partner from chasing that dream of perfection in relationships. On the contrary, a constant willingness to improve sends a positive signal to your partner that will be appreciated – and reciprocated.
