Women Helping Women through Trades of Hope

Trades of Hope, Women Helping Women

I recently learned of a Direct Sales company called Trades of Hope. A company where women sell items that women make. ~Women helping Women!

This company is combining the fun and innovative way that women in America earn an extra income; with women in poverty stricken areas who need help selling their goods!

Trades of Hope. Women helping womenThese beautiful products are made by women around the globe. Women who are dealing with aids, fighting poverty, who have been rescued from sex trafficking and more. These women are very skilled; creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind products that you will be thrilled to wear, or use around the house.

Because Trades of Hope works with many different artisans and organizations, the variety of of products to choose from is amazing!

When I was first asked to review an item from Trades of Hope I hesitated, because many fair trade organizations carry mostly jewelry which I do not wear.

After I perused the site a bit, I realized that not only does Trades of Hope carry the beautiful handcrafted jewelry commonly associated with fair trade for women, but also many other amazing articles.

I actually found a lot of different items that I really liked. So many in fact that I could not choose. Instead, I made a list of my top five favorite items and asked my consultant Melissa to surprise me.

I was sent one of the wire bowls. My bowl has the word “Hope” all around it.

The workmanship on this bowl is amazing! At first glance, it just looks like a cool fruit basket. Then as you look closer you can see the intricacies of a handmade product. Each letter has been individually made and then soldered together and painted. The amount of time it must have taken someone to do this is amazing!

It has quickly become one of my favorite bowls and I keep it out with fruit in it. When we have fruit that is, we tend to eat it all up around out house! People see it and comment on how neat it is and then I can tell them of the really cool story behind it!

I asked Melissa to share a bit about the company in her words and why women helping women through Trades of Hope is important to her.

I first heard about Trades of Hope in October, 2012 when a friend started posting on Facebook about it.  I didn’t really think a lot about it until December, when I took some time to read more about the company on the website.  With working full-time and also being involved with Thirty-One Gifts, I wasn’t sure that I could handle something else!  However, the more I read about the company, the more I fell in love with the mission behind it.

You don’t find companies like this every day that are focused so much on empowering women all over the globe.  Trades of Hope provides a way for artisans to have sustainable businesses all over the world as well as business opportunities for the Compassion Entrepreneurs selling the products in the 48 continental states.  It is still a very young company but is steadily growing.  I can only imagine how much of an impact we can have on the world should Trades of Hope grow to be as big as some of the most popular companies!

The unique, handcrafted products are definite conversation pieces!  The nice thing is that they come with a tag telling about the artisan group that made them, so if anyone ever asks, you are able to provide a little bit of info!  Some even have initials carved on the back!

Trades of Hope is a blessing, and every item gives hope for a brighter tomorrow and hope for the future generations.

Go ahead! Check out Trades of Hope and make sure you “like” Melissa’s page on Facebook because I happen to know that’s where you will find out all about the news sales and specials!!!
