A Simply Real Family Movie Night
Like the rest of you, I love spending time with my family! One of our favorite activities is watching movies together all snuggled up at home. While all the newest movies may be at the theater, this pregnant mama with an autistic son prefers we stay home where we can enjoy being comfortable in our own space, all while spending a lot less money!
Movie night is a time to make fun memories with your children. Go all out! We’ve got a few fun tips that we like to use when we have our Simply Real movie nights here at our house, and they can help make your next movie night an award winning event!
Comfort
Make a space where everyone can get comfortable, be it in a bed in Mom & Dad’s room, on the couch, or in our case…the pillow bed we make on the floor! Have plenty of blankets available to keep snuggly, and even have your children invite their stuffed friends along with them! Turn down the lights for a movie theater effect! We keep the lights on because it keeps my son most comfortable.
Tasty Treats
We always make sure everyone has a drink handy (that way I don’t have to go off into the kitchen and miss the movie!), and what movie would be complete without POPCORN?! My family’s absolute favorite popcorn is Pop Secret’s Homestyle popcorn. It has a lighter buttery taste with a sprinkle of salt, and is delicious (I almost always pop an extra bag!). Movie Choice
We love to watch animated family classics since my son is still young. Make sure to choose a film that will keep everyone engaged and happy.
