All-Natural Fruit Pops!

ByGuest Updated onMarch 31, 2023 Everyday, Food & Drink, Parenting

My children love fresh fruit. And they love popsicles! I had been buying the fruit popsicles at the store or making them out of orange juice at home since my daughter was young. Being a mom who likes to give my children fresh, preferably organic, produce, I decided I’d try to use fresh fruit to make my own popsicles. It was an instant success at our house! These fruit pops are made from 100-percent fruit; no added sugar, no added juices—simply fruit! Can’t get much better than that on a hot summer day! Pick out your child’s favorite fruits and get started. I’m going to share with you how to make them with yogurt cups in case you don’t have popsicle molds handy as well!

Here’s what we used:

  • Fruit (we used blueberries, strawberries and kiwi)
  • Popsicle mold or other small containers such as Tupperware or empty yogurt cups
  • Craft/popsicle sticks
  • Cling wrap (if you’re not using a popsicle mold)
  • Blender

Step 1

Blend each fruit individually and place in separate containers. This will allow you to make any combination of flavors—the possibilities are endless! We have found that blueberries need to be very well blended and are thick once blended. Don’t worry! They still taste delicious and are great for combining with other berries or kiwi!

Step 2

Using a container with a spout, carefully pour the flavors you want to mix together or the single flavors into your containers. If you are using a Tupperware container or yogurt cup, place cling wrap around the top of it. Then use a sharp knife to poke a small slit to fit the craft stick through.

Step 3

Freeze. We usually let ours freeze overnight!

Step 4

Enjoy! When you’re ready to eat the fruit pop, run the container under warm water for just a minute. Then it will pop right out of the container!

Alternatives

Is your older infant or toddler teething? Put the frozen fruit in a mesh feeder for them to gnaw on!

Sometimes we freeze the blended fruit in a dish so it can be served as a treat to eat with a spoon! Yum!

You can even add yogurt to the blend to make more of a smoothie flavored pop!

CAUTION! You may want to remove your child’s shirt when they eat these!
