BBC Cocktail Drink

I can still so clearly remember the first time I had a BBC cocktail.
I was at Beaches resort in Turks and Caicos and I walked up to a bar and asked the bartender to make me something delicious. He asked what flavors I liked and he winked at me and said “I got you!” He went about making my drink and slid across the bar a light colored blended drink. I was expecting a kind of Piña Colada based off the blending and the color but I had NO CLUE what I was about to sip.
It. Was. GLORIOUS.
I was instantly a fan and asked him what the cocktail was-was it a cocktail I could order anywhere or was it his creation (the bartenders all have their own signature drinks!)? He told me he had just made me a BBC cocktail and assured me I could order it anywhere else with no issue. So I did. The entire rest of our trip I ordered them everywhere. And probably gained 10lbs but I didn’t care. They’re that good.
Here’s the kicker. My husband and I Googled it. It has bananas in it. I am not a fan of banana drinks…but here I was, ordering them like they were going out of style.
(Word to the wise, if you’re going to search it on the internet look up “BBC Drink” to stay safe.)
BBC stands for Banana Bailey’s Colada (or Banana Bailey’s Coconut depending on who you ask) and I couldn’t wait to try making them at home.
Over the last year we’ve been perfecting our take on the drink and I think we’ve got what tasted best to us so I give you: The BBC
Now, just sit back, turn on some Bob Marley and close your eyes to imagine you’re in the Caribbean on vacation. It takes me back with each sip.
