Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce

ByGuest Updated onMarch 31, 2023 Everyday, Food & Drink

Every fall season, I make a big batch of applesauce for my family. Everyone LOVES it and I love that it is much cheaper than buying applesauce from the store. I can make a big batch of this for about three or four dollars as compared to the same amount of money for a small jar of applesauce at the grocery store. Be sure to make this recipe with your kids, it is easy and fun!

This pictures does not do this applesauce justice; I promise, it is delicious….it just looks messy!

Ingredients:

4 apples (I prefer honey crisp apples)
3/4 cup water
1/4 brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon

Directions:

Step 1. Peel, core and chop your apples and set in a saucepan.

Step 2. Add water, brown sugar and cinnamon and simmer for 20-30 minutes or until apples are soft.

Step 3. Mash well with a fork and spoon and mix well. Serve warm or chill in the refrigerator for one hour to cool.
