Omaha Steaks Makes The Perfect Gift For Anyone On Your List!
I can admit it-I’m a total procrastinator. It’s not something I’m proud of, but I do it. Come Christmas time, it becomes a problem because I also love to give great gifts. I’ll have wonderful ideas in my mind of the perfect gift for someone, but wait until the last second to finally finish my list…which becomes too late for all my long distance family!

My family is a family of meat eaters-right down to the baby who has no teeth, yet gnaws on strips of steak like a pro so we were thrilled to receive a Family Grilling Combo Gift from Omaha Steaks last week! I have heard all about Omaha Steaks but had never been so lucky as to receive a package through them before…boy were we missing out!
Our package arrived in a nice reuseable styrofoam cooler packed with dry ice and filled with meats and more.
Everything was frozen and easy to transfer right into our freezer!
I couldn’t wait to get started cooking up all of the different kinds of food in the box!
Our Family Grilling Combo Came with:
- 2 (5 oz.) Filet Mignons
- 2 (9 oz.) Top Sirloins
- 4 Boneless Chicken Breasts (1 lb. pkg.)
- 4 (4 oz.) Omaha Steaks Burgers
- 4 (3 oz.) Gourmet Jumbo Franks
- 4 (5.75 oz.) Stuffed Baked Potatoes
I immediately thawed the chicken breasts to make one of my absolute favorite meals for dinner that night. I make a mean Honey Baked Chicken that never gets old, and I knew it would hit the spot…and it did.
Find the recipe to bake this HERE (sometimes we use pork chops, sometimes chicken…both are amazing!) and remember to mix that leftover sauce into some rice. You won’t regret it, I promise.
The portions are so perfect for one person, and we all devoured our dinner.
The next meal we ate from our Omaha Steaks Gift was Hot Dogs with the Stuffed Baked Potatoes as a side. Oh. My. Heavens. Do you like Hot Dogs? Because these are so juicy and taste phenomenal. They’re BIG too! Wowzers. The potatoes perfectly accompanied the Hot Dogs with their creamy bacon and cheese filling too.
Lucky for my husband, the shipment of the Family Grilling Combo came only days before his birthday. We decided to make his birthday dinner a steak night, cooking up the Filets and Sirloin Strips for a husband’s dream dinner. It was pouring rain outside, so grilling wasn’t an option but I had it covered because I have the best method of cooking the perfect steak inside.
How To Cook The Perfect Steak
This recipe works best with thicker filet steaks, but any steak will benefit from this recipe!
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees, and generously (especially with the salt!) season your steaks with salt and pepper
Get a cast iron skillet screaming hot and melt 4 Tablespoons of butter in it
Sear both sides of your steaks, about 2 minutes per side (till they get a crisp browning on each side)
Spoon the melted butter over the steaks as they sear in the skillet
Stick the skillet into your oven and cook for 5-8 more minutes, depending on the thickness of your steaks-a thick filet cooks up perfectly to medium in about 7 minutes
Remove the skillet from the oven and transfer to plates to rest (about 3-5 mins before cutting!) and spoon a little of the extra butter on top
Oh man, those steaks were so tender and delicious. No steak sauce needed when you season them just right with salt, pepper and melted butter…YUM.
