Snickerdoodle Popcorn
My family LOVES popcorn. Loves it. We eat it plain, sweet, savory, buttered…basically any way you can prepare it we eat it. It’s just a fun snack we all enjoy together.
We were eating some popcorn the other night when I realized I should share some of my quick popcorn toppings that change up your basic everyday popcorn to create deliciously unique treats your whole family will love.
Today I’ll share my Snickerdoodle Popcorn. I randomly made this one night when I was pregnant with my first son and was craving snickerdoodle cookies. I was tired and wasn’t really interested in baking snickerdoodles OR going to the store to find some so I improvised! What happened that night has turned into a family favorite treat that my boys request often now.
To make Snickerdoodle Popcorn, mix together 3 Tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a small bowl.
Pop a bag of microwave buttered popcorn. Now feel free to air pop and butter your popcorn but I’ve found it works best with the buttered microwave popcorn because it’s piping hot when you open the bag & you’ll want that popcorn as hot as possible when you add the toppings. I personally use the Pop Secret Homestyle because the butter is light but there’s enough to hold onto those toppings.
(This is not an ad! the Pop Secret Homestyle is the only popcorn I use)
Open up your bag of popcorn and sprinkle on about half of your cinnamon sugar mix. Gripping the top of the bag, lightly shake it to distribute the toppings.
Add more topping and shake again, repeating until you get the desired amount of cinnamon sugar evenly distributed over all the kernels.
Pour into a bowl and serve while still hot for a warm Snickerdoodle-y treat! We hope you love it as much as our family does, stay tuned for more of our simple popcorn toppings to come!
