Strawberry-Walnut French Toast
French toast is an easy breakfast that just take a little something extra to make it a delicious, fancy brunch loved by everyone. One of my favorite ways to enjoy french toast is this Strawberry-Walnut French Toast recipe! While I typically simply make french toast and toss some butter on it, taking the extra time to make this meal takes it from ordinary to extraordinary!
One of the keys to making french toast worthy of Sunday Brunch is to use a good, thick bread. Using Italian bread, French bread, or even Texas toast works better than your typical loaf of bread.
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of thick bread
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of milk
- dash of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- dash of vanilla
- butter
- maple syrup
- sliced strawberries
- walnuts
Step 1:
Mix eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla together in a flat bowl.
Step 2:
Preheat your skillet and melt butter on it. Soak each side of the sliced bread in the egg mixture. Fry until each side is browned, flipping the bread during cooking.
Step 3:
Top with walnuts, sliced strawberries, and syrup. Enjoy!
