Valentine Chocolate Covered Graham Crackers
These chocolate covered graham crackers are too cute for words! They are not only adorable, but also very easy and perfect for any Valentine party. These would also make a great teacher gift. I especially love these because they are bite site so they are a perfect treat for toddlers and kids but also moms watching their waistline. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 4 full sheet graham crackers (It is very important that you use graham crackers from a freshly opened package. Graham crackers that are opened for too long soften and are much harder to cut out with the cookie cutter. They will be more likely to break when pressing down).
- 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
- Sprinkles (pink, white or red would work best for Valentine’s Day)
- A 1-inch heart shaped cookie cutter. (It is important to use a 1-inch cookie cutter so it will fit correctly on the graham cracker).
- Aluminum foil or parchment paper.
Directions:
Step 1. Set cookie cutter on top of graham cracker and press evenly and firmly down. Be sure you are doing this on a completely flat surface. Once it cuts through the graham cracker, carefully use your fingers to gently press graham cracker through to release it from cookie cutter. Set aside and repeat for the other 11 graham crackers. (You should be able to get three heart shapes out of one sheet of graham cracker).
Step 2. Melt the chocolate: put in microwave for 1 minute 15 seconds or until chocolate is melted. Stir until chocolate is smooth. (Each microwave is different so your time might be a little more or less).
Step 3. Dip graham crackers into the chocolate and coat both sides with chocolate. If you like, you can use a spoon to gently cover the graham cracker.
Step 4. Place chocolate covered graham crackers on top of foil or parchment paper and put sprinkles on top of each one.
Step 5. Put in freezer for 5 minutes to set chocolate. Remove from freezer and serve or store in an airtight container until serving. (Be sure chocolate is completely set before stacking crackers for storage).
