Recipe for Pear Cobbler ~Simple and Delicious!
We’ve been enjoying fresh pears off the tree and I’ve been doing a bit of baking with them as well. So today I’m sharing my recipe for pear cobbler. It’s quick and easy to make with simple ingredients.
Recipe for Pear Cobbler:
- 3 recipes pie dough
- 12 cups sliced pears
- 1 cup maple syrup
- scant 1 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 cup milk
Make your pie dough and hold 1/3 back. Use the other 2/3’s to line a glass 9×13 pan. I used coconut oil instead of butter in my pie dough. It’s a little trickier to use oil, but if your coconut oil is in a semi-hard state and you use ice cold water, it works fine. However, if you can use butter, I recommend doing so. 🙂
Pour the sliced pears into your pie crust dough lined pan. Then, mix the maple syrup, flour, cinnamon, and ginger together and pour over the pears. Roll out the remaining pie dough and place it on top. I don’t seal the edges or anything, in fact, the dough doesn’t go quite to the edge and that’s fine.
Brush the milk over the top of the dough. I used Silk coconut milk instead of dairy milk and it worked fine.
Bake 50 minutes to an hour. You want your pear filling to be bubbling and the top crust to be a beautiful flaky brown.
This delicious recipe for pear cobbler is best, when a big ol’ scoop of ice cream is added to a fresh out of the oven serving of the cobbler. If you don’t have ice cream, milk works great!
**On a side note, I made one recipe of pie filling and cut my recipe to a 1/3 and made a pie for a potluck. Worked great!**
