Not everybody has picture-perfect parents or siblings, and no rules say you can’t keep particularly toxic family members at arm’s length as you age. However, your family is like any other people in your life, so if they aren’t bringing value or happiness, don’t be afraid to move on if they get you down regularly.

Yet, becoming untethered from their phone is one of the things women are most proud of doing as they get older, citing increased happiness levels.
